Last year The Rangeley Friends of the Arts…

- Awarded over $3,000 to assist local students with private music lessons and dance classes.

- Sponsored the “Walk to Bethlehem” community Christmas performance.

- Worked in cooperation with Rangeley Lakes Regional School to sponsor these visiting artists:

- Lynn Plourde, Maine author.

- Penobscot Theater’s performance of Romeo and Juliet.

- Theater at Monmouth, performance of The Reluctant Dragon.

- Provided students with tickets to see the musical Mama Mia and provided the senior class tickets to the Blue Man Group.

- Coordinated and purchased tickets for a school field trip to hear the Portland Symphony in concert.

- Coordinated group recitals for local students taking private music and dance lessons.

- Awarded $1,500 in scholarships to graduating seniors from RLRS continuing  in the arts.

- Purchased supplies for an Advanced Placement Photo Project.

- Offered two seperate week long Drama Camps for school aged children.

- Brought three different arts events to the Rangeley Region during the summer for visitors and locals to enjoy.  Performing were the Sidecar Heroes, an A C appella men’s group, The Westerhoff Foundation Classical Artists, The DownEast Brass, playing music from a boat as it made various stops around Rangeley Lake.

- Continued the traditions of offering fun arts events like the Art in August Show, the Street Dance, the DIVA Show, the Rangeley Community Chorus, the Woodland Chamber Ensemble and the Home Tour.

And finally, presented our Summer Musical, Footloose, which was a multi-generational production including many of our local children.
